Cultivars 2009!

So while things are still getting underway, let me review the cultivars I'm going with for this year. Each cultivar is a link to the product listing from the company I ordered it through - almost all of them in the smallest sizes available (i.e. Sample). Some will be grown in rows (i.e. beans), but others I will only be planting 2 - 3 plants each (i.e. tomatoes!).

  • California Wonder 300 * - green/red bell type
  • Yummy # - bright orange mini-bells!
  • Giant Ancho # - Ancho type that ripens to chocolate brown
  • Mulato Isleno * - Ancho type
  • Ancho Magnifico * - Ancho type (...I'm making a lot of chili this fall?)
  • Peguis * - Jalapeno type

  • Chocolate Cherry + - one of the 'brown' tomatoes that I just want to grow for the color if nothing else!

  • Summerlong # - you'll note there are only two basil cultivars. it's difficult, but sometimes I can control myself.
