Yes, Plants
Apr. 20th, 2010 04:32 pmYa know, this past winter I went for weeks at a time without breaking out the camera. Luckily, I have enough hard drive space to accommodate this habit, eh? Anyway, I think you can guess what's behind the cut.

You'll notice that the right side looks considerably more orderly than the mob on the left. There's a reason for that.

It's not these guys! They're doing just fine and, ah, I don't know what to do with them. Hrm.

Nor is it the onions! I'm so not worried about them this year compared to last year.

This would be one of the unruly culprits - I'm having tomato issues. Research indicates lack of sufficient potassium may be the problem. As there is fertilizer in the soil, I can only surmise that it's not enough for the size/type of plant? I don't know. I'm flying blind here but all the flopsy ones are either Purple Russian or Tiffen Mennonite.

This was in the shed from I-don't-know-where (well, besides having been purchased at The Anderson's for $2.39 at some indeterminate point). It is a good source of potassium! That's the last number. Hopefully it's not too good a source of nitrogen.

For the worst ones (six of 'em), I added gentle, temporary support consisting of a popsicle stick and velcro plant ties. Hopefully, the fertilizer will help and I can remove the supports.

This one looks considerably less pitiful now with it's support.

Then there's part of the "DOING JUST FINE, THANKS" group.

The pepper seedlings are complaining about their leaves being chilly.

Meanwhile, outside, the mint that was salvaged from the garden before plowing is settling in and adjusting its plans for world domination to account for its new base of operations.
So, yes, fertilizer. Naturally, I watered all the plants with it.
D: "All the plants?"
Blue: "Yep"
D: "So either they all do great or they all die?"
Blue: "..."
D: "Can you call me if they all die?"
Blue: "Why?"
D: "So I don't come home."
Blue: "Coward"
*is totally not paranoid now*
