Wood County Heritage Days 2009
Jun. 13th, 2009 07:35 pmThis afternoon I stopped by the Wood County Heritage Days, which is an event put on every year by the Wood County Historical Center & Museum. It's free admission and always good for a stroll, particularly in beautiful weather like today, and they have a very nice herb garden that I enjoy visiting.
I could've taken the pups as well but River has a twisted paw and I needed to go to the grocery store afterward. Even if I took just Jack, I didn't think he would appreciate being par broiled in the car, which the sunlight could heat up significantly warmer than the actual air temperature outside. (By which I mean, this can kill your pets, so please don't leave them in the car this time of year for any amount of time! </psa>)
Now, on to the photos! *g*
( 14 photos, resized as usual. )

The foremost corner plant here is a very impressive coriander.

An equally impressive sage plant.

A nice little drying rack set-up in the potting shed.
You can find the full album at Blue Melon, but I think I hit the highlights. It was a gorgeous day and a very enjoyable few hours in which I walked around on my own a bit, then my husband joined me, and, finally, we ran into some friends. I left to head to grocery store just minutes before it started to sprinkle so I really couldn't have planned it any better!
Now I'm just hanging out with the pups and recovering from yesterday while pointedly leaving the garden to its own devices. I'll have a bit of a post to catch up with what's going on out there up later today.
