SPRING

March 29th - you would think with all these lights directly on the image subject that it would be easier to take a halfway decent picture. Not so much, as it turns out, daytime or nighttime.


Two days later they had their first trip outside! This was the same day that I was out taking pictures of the pups.


Can you hear them? They're saying mean and nasty things about me in this photo.


All flopped over after a couple hours outside in the wind. Yes, I do enjoy torturing my plants, thanks for asking!


Taken tonight (three days after the three previous pictures) and, as you can see, they've more than recovered.


There are some very over achieving Purple Russians on the right, which will need to go on the top shelf very soon. Which means I need to get a few more bulbs *makes note to self*.

On the bottom shelf we have a few more tomatoes (the late starts), the onions, the peppers still under their dome as they haven't germinated yet (it's only been a few days), a tray of leeks and Golden beets, and a tray of flowers and herbs. Coming soon: lettuce (the first planting I'm thinking can go in the remaining area of the pepper tray, the second planting will be direct seeded into the garden) and basil.

I need to make it to Menard's (as I have a gift card to use there \o/) and pick up those bulbs and some peat pots. I'm not a fan of peat pots and I never really thought I'd be using them, but apparently they do have their uses when it comes to plants which hate to have their roots disturbed - namely melons and cucumbers in my case. I could just direct seed them, but this would give me a little jump on the time table and I need to start some for D's aunt regardless. I'm giving it a try and we'll see how it goes.
